The Lydia Leadership Foundation has officially announced the opening of applications for the 2027 Adedeji Scholarship Program (ASP). What is the Adedeji Scholarship Program?

The Adedeji Scholarship Program (ASP) is an initiative of the Lydia Leadership Foundation, Nigeria, established to celebrate students who refuse to be defined by academics alone.

Named in honor of an impactful journey of academic excellence and service, the scholarship rewards students who not only excel in their chosen disciplines but also pursue diverse interests that contribute to their personal growth and the development of their communities.

Whether you’re launching a business, volunteering in your community, participating in theatre productions, learning a professional skill, engaging in creative arts, or leading impactful initiatives, ASP recognizes that these experiences are just as valuable as achievements in the classroom.

Benefits 

Successful applicants will receive:

• Full tuition fees for one academic session.
• Full accommodation fees for one academic session.
• Opportunity to renew the scholarship for one additional academic session based on exceptional performance.
• Admission into the one-year ASP Scholars Fellowship, where scholars receive mentorship, leadership development, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Who Can Apply?

• Students of the University of Ibadan (UI).
• Must be in 100 to 300-level.
• Belong to one of the following faculties:
  • Faculty of Economics
  • Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Faculty of Arts
• Have demonstrated meaningful involvement in meaning extracurricular activities within or outside the university.

Minimum GPA Requirement?

There is no mandatory minimum GPA required to apply. However, applicants with stronger academic records may have an advantage during the selection process.

Application Requirements for Adedeji Undergraduate Scholarship

• Applicants must submit the following:
• A completed scholarship application form.
• An official academic transcript showing the current GPA.
• Original JAMB Result Slip (for current 100-level students).
• A personal essay of no more than 250 words.
• Supporting documents or evidence that strengthen the application, such as certificates, leadership awards, project portfolios, volunteer activities, or other relevant accomplishments.

Applicants are required to answer the following essay question in no more than 250 words:

Share how your curiosity, passion, or interests have led you to pursue meaningful endeavors that may or may not align directly with your course of study. How do you plan to use that perspective in shaping your path after your studies, and what role do you see your current education playing in that journey?
