The board in charge of JSS3 BECE / Junior WAEC examination is using this medium to inform the general public, especially those who partake in the examination, that the result has been successfully uploaded on the NECO official portal @ results.neco.gov.ng. All principals, parents, and students are to visit the website to check their student /child’s result.

What you need to know about BECE

BECE stands for Basic Education Certificate Examination, and this examination is written by JSS3 students before proceeding to Senior Secondary School. The examination is set by the National Examinations Council to determine if a student has completed the basic education curriculum and to test the ability of students whether they can advance to the next stage.

Is BECE Result 2026 official out?

YES, the Basic Education Certificate Examination Result for the 2026/2027 session is officially out, and candidates can proceed to the National Examination Council result portal to check their results.

Things needed before checking results

Before a candidate can check their result, they must have the details listed below ready

  • Result Token or PIN
  • Registration Number

How much is BECE Result Checker Token?

You are to pay a sum of 2,100 (Two thousand One hundred naira) for the token required to check your result, and the token should be purchased directly from the National Examination Council portal.

How to check BECE Result 2026

Follow the procedure below to check your BECE result

  • Visit NECO Result Portal
  • Choose the exam year e.g 2026
  • Select the Basic Education Certificate Result in the Exam Type Section
  • Enter the Registration number in the space provided
  • Input the Token purchased
  • Click “Check Result” button, then a pop-up page will display with your result.

NOTE: If you follow this step correctly, you won’t have any difficulties checking your result.

Junior WAEC grading system

The grading system for this examination is as follows:

  • A – Distinction
  • B – Upper Credit
  • C – Lower Credit
  • P – Pass
  • F – Fail

Can results be checked through the state portal?

YES, the Basic Education Certificate Examination results can also be viewed through the state portal. Follow the prompt below if your state is listed.

For Delta State candidates

  • Kindly logon to DELTAMOBSE official portal
  • Click “Check Result” displayed at the top right corner
  • Select your school, session, form, and class
  • Click on “Get Class List”
  • Enter card pin in the boxes provided
  • Click on “Check Result” to access your ward’s result.

For Bauchi State candidates

For Nasarawa State candidates

  • Go to the Nasarawa State Ministry’s official portal
  • Enter your username and password
  • Provide your Online Registration Number
  • Click Login
  • In the top right corner, click BECE Result Examination.
  • Your result will be downloaded and available in PDF.

Please note that every state has its own BECE result portal managed by the state Ministry of Education.

Will there be a resit examination?

The National Examinations Council Board has announced that there will be a resit examination for candidates who have conditional deficiencies in Mathematics or English studies or both. The examination is scheduled to be held on 22nd and 23rd July 2026 for Mathematics and English Studies.
